Mondo Candido- How Candide Was Exiled

This is a clip from MONDO CANDIDO (1974). MONDO CANDIDO is the final collaboration between the exploitation maverick duo Gualtiero Jacopetti and Franco Prosperi. Its also one of the most wonderfully weird and charming erratic films ever produced; a stunning barrage of mind bending imagery that never lets up. Unlike such see-em-and-puke works as AFRICA ADDIO and GOODBYE UNCLE TOM, its no documentary or historical recreation, no; its an adaptation of Voltaires famous novel Candide and what an adaptation it is! It tosses in everything but the kitchen sink, throws all logic and narrative structure to the wind and the two directors put their own spin on Voltaires often gloomy, occasionally pessimistic but very rational story. This scene is a great example early on in the film of its very strange aesthetic. Candide (Christopher Brown) lives in a posh castle in Westphalia but makes the mistake of falling in love with the Baron's daughter Cunegonde (Michelle Miller). Ass kicking and exile ensues when they are caught in the act of naughty business.

Vervet Monkey 20 Dec 2008 in center of Port Elizabeth, South Africa

Video of a Vervet Monkey who, on 20th December 2008, came into our kitchen in Port Elizabeth, South Africa, stole a banana, and then retired to the tree outside our kitchen door, to enjoy the meal. Our local Vet told us that rouge monkeys sometimes get booted out of the pack and this could be one such monkey. Apparently the monkey will return to the bush soon. I hope so as he/she knows where our fruit is kept!

Welcome To My Kitchen - Alternative Natural Body Products

Making alternative body products in my home is something that I've tried to remain committed to for the last couple of years. Although toxins are everywhere...in the water, the soil, the food, the air, and just about all the household products and furniture we have in our homes, I believe it's still important for each of us to do whatever we can do reduce the amount of toxicity that circulates throughout our bodies. Unfortunately, even in most health food stores chemicals abound due to the solvents that are used during the processing of the foods and products. Most of the recipes used in this video are recommended by Hulda Regehr Clark in her book "The Cure for All Disease". She has a listing in the back of her book with reliable "chemical-free" companies that you can purchase everything from herbs, to household products, etc. At the end of the day, I'd have to agree with her recommendations of living with as little as possible...because with everything we bring into our homes, we bring along the chemicals they carry as well. Shalom Family!

Behind the Eyes of a Stranger. Ch. 1

*Amber's P.O.V.* "Great..." I muttered sarcastically to myself as I got up crankily the morning of my first day of high school in L.A. I locked myself in the bathroom and took a warm shower. I hated the fact that I was 5 months away of graduating and I had to move all the way from Arizona to a place where I was a complete stranger. I got out of the shower and dried my hair straight. I put on my extensions and put on my clothes: pink skinny jeans, a gray tank top with a blue strapless top over it and my silver converse. I finished getting ready and went to the kitchen. I drank a glass of chocolate milk and ate a small pack of Froot Loops. "Mom, Im leaving now!" I called as I opened the front door to go to school. "Ok, honey! Have fun!" she called from the kitchen. "Yeah... not likely" I muttered. I was scared what high school here would be like. I was convinced that Californians wouldnt be nice. I thought they were hard as rocks, cold and plastic. I set my mind to think that if they thought I was cool, they would be nice enough. I was better than that. No Californian was gonna bring me down. I straightened up, took a deep breath and walked up to my Ford Escape and drove out of my parking lot. I couldnt take off my head the thought of going to a completely different school because of my dad... couldnt we stay in Arizona? I loved Arizona. It was my home! My friends there were great and I had an amazing boyfriend named Brandon. The rest of the way to the school I pictured his perfect abs, his tan skin, his shaky brown hair with natural blonde sunlights, his perfect and innocent smile and his amazing hazel eyes. I loved him so much... I kept thinking about the promise he had made: he would come for me as soon as he could. But then I got back to reality; I got to the school and parked. I couldnt help to notice the whole collection of the latest cars and trucks in the market. That kind of intimidated me. *Mischa's P.O.V.* New kids... they are such characters! When the new girl stepped out of her truck, I could tell she was one of those girls who think theyre all that. I rolled my eyes. Why underestimate us? I bet she wasnt even that cool. It was just some kind of mask. I would know. Ive seen it all. I kept observing her as she walked around, but got distracted by Ashley bragging about her new clothes... shes my best friend but she can be so annoying... I didnt even pretend to listen to her, but she kept talking anyways... I wondered if this girl would be different than she appeared. Maybe, if she ended up in any of my classes I would try to talk to her. Maybe, if she saw we were welcoming, she wouldnt look at us with such bitchy eyes. *Amber's P.O.V.* I stepped out of my truck and started walking with my shoulder bag hanging across my chest. I glanced around and noticed some people staring at me. Thats when I got even more intimidated. I had underestimated them, and they seemed to think I was some kind of joke. Of course! The new girl is always the zoo attraction, like a little weird monkey just brought from Africa. My self-confidence went down the drains. I shrank to the size of a mouse. I kept walking and getting familiar with the place. My eyes were suddenly dragged to a guy getting out of a big black Jeep Commander and shutting the door of the passenger seat closed after groaning at someone. I saw him let out a snort and shake his head with an ironic smile, then sighing, shaking his black wavy hair slightly. He was wearing jeans, black and white vans, and a white long sleeve t-shirt with a black shirt over it. He suddenly set his eyes on me. I tried to look away, but his intense glance caught me off guard and I just couldnt look anywhere else. He gave me a crooked uninterested smile and turned away, walking to one of the buildings. He was cute and his smile was perfect, but I shook my head off the thought. I walked into the building and headed to the secretarys office to pick up my schedule and then headed to class. On the way there, people looked at me bizarrely, and I felt awkward. People seemed to see me as some sort of alien. I walked into Spanish class and sat down at the back of the classroom all by myself, burying my head in my arms while I waited for the teacher to arrive. --- First chap!!! tell me what you think lol

Welcome To My Kitchen - Herbs

On a busy weekday morning, this is a short video demonstration of a herbal infusion. The transition from conventional medicine to herbs has been something that we've slowly grown into over the years. The little knowledge I do have on herbs has come out of the desire to see my oldest child free of asthma. On the journey we've come to realize that there were a number of factors that contributed to his asthmatic situation, one of them being the vaccinations he'd received as an infant. He's been on a slow detox regimen for a year or so now and with the use of herbs we've been able to keep his system well balanced for the most part. We thank Ahayah for the services he's provided us in the vast field of herbs. It only speaks a small amount of his power. We honor his creation by first fearing him, the creator of all. "And Ahayah said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat." Genesis 1:29 "Let us hear the whole conclusion of the matter: Fear Ahayah, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man." Ecclesiastes 12:13 Shalom...and blessings to you! Herbal Dosages for Children Infusion & Teas If Adult Dose = 1 Cup Newborn to 2 Years = 1/2 Teaspoon 2-4 Years = 2 Tablespoons 4-7 Years = 1/4 Cup 7-11 Years = 1/2 Cup * A nursing mother may also take an adult dose and the herbs will be transmitted to her baby through her breastmilk, filtered and diluted to the appropriate strength.
